Bunnies and Kitties!

One of my favourite things about visiting my friends from Kelowna is their backyard... It's filled with all sorts of strange mushrooms and fungi hidden in the overgrown grass, there's raspberry bushes galore, and little furry creatures hopping about...  

Meet Angel and Sunshine, the rabbits, Barney and Windsor, the old cats, and Jack-Torch, the youngest cat of the bunch (we had adopted him initially, but it didn't work out (he has aggressive tendencies, and liked to hump/clobber our other cat, and they re-adopted him, and he's very happy now!). 

The last picture is of Lauren, while we were taking some reference photos for Christina Lank (a brilliant painter), and Jack jumped into the photo. We had a difficult time herding him out of the shots, and eventually had to bring him inside.

Our Kelowna friends have recently moved to the Vancouver area, so I happily get to see them AND these little creatures quite often now! 

Thrifting in Kelowna - Part 1

While I was in Kelowna during the summer, Lauren wanted to visit Value Village, and do some Halloween costume shopping & general thrifting. Of course, I couldn't say no!

I almost took this deer home with me. I kind of regret not actually buying it.

Going thrifting is always a fun adventure. There's so many interesting objects and curious, that I'm lucky I have a discerning eye & shallow pocket, or I'd be going home with truck loads of junk treasure.

Kelowna Trip :: Traveling

I have so many photos from my trip to Kelowna, that I'll have to break it down into a few posts. We did so many fun things that it's too much for one post to handle! :P

Kelowna and Vancouver are very different places.
Vancouver is a big, crowded city, next to the Pacific Ocean & Mountains, in the midst of a lush, wet rain forest. Kelowna on the other hand, is a rather small town in comparison, surrounded by barren, fire torched trees, dry yellow grassy hills and small mountains, in a desert. Even though it's only a five hour drive from me, the wild life and plant life are quite different.

Where we have seagulls, geese, pigeons,  and crows, they have these fat, silly quails running around with bobbing heads and gliding from tree to tree. Kelowna is also famous for apple, grape, and peach orchards, along with many vineyards.

It's just so massive and beautiful. This is the best photo I've ever managed to take of it,
and it was even while we were driving super fast down the freeway. Lucky shot! :)

I really love nature photography, especially when I'm traveling. It is so exciting to see new terrain, and save the memories with a click. Sometimes I feel like I'm a traveling photographer for National Geographic, and that it's important I capture anything of beauty or interest, to share with other people (in this case, you guys :).
