Victorian Woman Fashion

Just a little doodle I liked and wanted to share with you guys. I'm a big fan of Victorian everything - from their ironic manners and views on propriety, romantic literature, and interesting fashions.

I must have read Pride and Prejudice four times by now. Every time I reread it, I always pick up on something new, hinting at Darcy's liking of Elizabeth. I also love Jane Austin's use of wit and observations of the irony of that society. A close second is Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte - that book was so unusual and fantastic.

I also love the design of the period - excessive patterns and gilded objects, all made to show fashion and wealth. I think my favourite pattern from the period would be Damask. It's so orderly and interesting, yet when it ages, it takes on an enchantingly worn look.
